About PINK SAKHI

Pink Sakhi seeks to establish, mark and create awareness programs on breast cancer and other cancers. The initiatives started many years ago in different ways and this Walk is planned as an Annual Event.

The activities encompass the entire continuum of Cancer Awareness – Awareness Camps, Screening for early detection, Counselling Patients and Caregivers, Palliative Care support, etc. These complement the work done by the medical fraternity and aims to become an One Stop cancer help agency.

Pink Saree

The Saree, also called as ‘Sari’, may be a fashionable garment today but its origin was as a humble drape used by women thousands of years ago. The origin of the drape or a garment similar to the sari, can be traced back to the Indus Valley Civilization in 2800-1800 BC in northwest India. Typically, the sari measures anywhere between three and a half to nine yards and can be worn in many ways, thereby defining its versatility and beauty. It is a symbol of the heritage, culture, and identity of the Indian Woman.

We request you to walk or run in a Saree as our mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, great grandmothers have run in the past. Join us to challenge the misconception that a Saree cannot be a garment for Fitness!

On 8th March 2026, thousands of women will participate in the Saree Walk, draping a Pink Saree. This event is being organised by ROHIT MEMORIAL TRUST under the leadership of Ms. Gurmeet Kohli, Director – Projects and Dr. Meenakshi Anantram, Vice Chairman.
